":BTW Greg it look like your prediction of an ice free Artic ocean in 2 years time is looking very very unlikelyn about as unlikely as this post seeing the light of day."

I never made that prediction, what are you talking about? I've advocated for dropping the "ice free" arctic meme because it is too subtle of a measurement to not be exploited by nefarious science denialists. There will always be ice in the Arctic, unless the planet tilts several degrees!

" I am sad"

So very very sorry.

Why not try mixing some of those strange fact things into your post. Such as " 2013 is the fourth hottest year since records started being kept in 1880" and "nine of the 10 hottest years on record have been in the 21st century (2010 is the record holder for hottest year ever).". Read http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy.html for more details, a blog written by an a astronomer so closer to your scientific ideal of cosmology.

Note my location...Sagan rules...skeptics are true scientists...those that argue from authority and consensus are not true scientists.

We have reached a tipping point and not the one the IPCC has failed to predict. The Ship Of Fools did it for you all.

BTW Greg it look like your prediction of an ice free Artic ocean in 2 years time is looking very very unlikelyn about as unlikely as this post seeing the light of day.

As a climatologist you make a great anthropologist Greg. I enjoy it when you talk about those things you have a good intellectual grip on. Stick to the anthropology and leave the quasi religious debate on AGW alone that way you will retain some credibilty.

I continue to read your blog as your chosen field of expertise appeals to me. I am sad that your blog is fading into obscurity due to your rabid support of those that eschew skepticism and resort to ad hom attacks based on consensus. There is no consensus in science only people willing to take on contrarian views with facts and not vitriol. That is why I love cosmology the realm of true scientists.
