Hmmm..
...it seems there were quite a few Poles who didn't want the UN eco-fest in their city.
50,000 Poles, to be exact:

Right, as I said on another post, I'm done with commenting, so I'm off.
It's been an absolute hoot.

I don't believe you when you say you are done with commenting -gtl

Andy, the climate change problem is a tragedy of the commons. Telling one person they should show their commitment by abandoning their fossil fuel use to other greedy guts abusers is pointless. It requires collective action to solve the problem and that is precisely what the UN conference is trying to do.

James Hansen never said we'd be burning up by now. Why don't you go and read his 1981 paper on the topic which is free to read here http://pubs.giss.nasa.gov/docs/1981/1981_Hansen_etal.pdf. Much of what he predicted is coming true sooner than he thought, like the opening of the Northwest passage. His prediction was for sometime this century not in the first half of this century as is likely to be the case.
As for your energy bill. This is much more complicated than you would have us believe. According to the BBC, climate change policies account for only 15% of the increase in your bill. The rest of it is from other things. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24646527

Sorry Greg, he doesn't address my question at all, apart from admitting that the average man on the street just sees these delegates as 'frequent flyers' who jet around the world from one 'climate summit' to another in various exotic places (holiday in Cancun anyone?).
His brother's situation sounds horrific, so why isn't this chap back home helping his family, rather than making pointless gestures at some great big climate love-in? It's an example of histrionics of the highest order.
What strikes me as ironic is that people at this conference opine about the evils of fossil fuel, all the while surrounded by high-tec plastic gadgets that are the product of petroleum-based materials. If it wasn't for fossil fuels they wouldn't be able to sit there playing on their smartphones (like the chap sat behind Yeb Sano was), or texting their mum to tell her to get the dinner on as they'll be taking the private jet back home soon.

Bill: it's not a matter of 'winning', it's just fun for me to watch alarmists like yourself spinning and squirming as the surface temps continue to flat-line. People like the odious Hansen told us back in the 80s that we'd all be burning to death by now. However, his ABC scenarios were a spectacular fail.
Because we're not burning up, alarmists have now hastily cobbled-together the excuse about the surface heat slinking off to hide in the deep oceans. It's a pretty weak excuse.

However, what isn't fun for me is to have to pay ever increasing energy bills because of the wretched green taxes that the govt has added to my electicity and gas rates. I then have to watch my money being wasted on vanity projects such as those completely useless windfarms. If it wasn't for alarmists like yourself, this whole green scam wouldn't be hitting me in the pocket right now (or causing the deaths of pensioners and the poor because they can't afford to heat their homes in the winter-time).

The late and great physicist Prof Hal Lewis called the global warming con the, "greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud". He was right.

People like Andy here do an outstanding job of demonstrating the denier mentality. You post pointing out that Watts and co. are, well, oafish; they come here and behave like...?

The fact that they doubtlessly think they're 'winning' - I suspect they've never thought anything else! - only brings home the point.

I presume this chap flew by plane to get to this UN gab-fest? Why didn't he just broadcast his speech on the net so they could put it up on a big screen for them all to coo over?
Hmmm...
...he can go on hunger strike but he still uses fossil fuels to get to his soap box.
What a hypocrite, just like all those other delegates who flew to this climate love-in. Haven't they heard of the tele-conference? Email? Skype? Web-cams? The internet?
Of course they have, but producing a carbon-footprint bigger than Texas isn't going to stop this lot enjoying their UN junket.
Another case of do as I say, not as I do.
