This kind of leaves out people primarily of African ancestry. They got no Neanderthal in them. I think only Europeans and a couple of Asian ethnic groups have Neanderthal in them.

My orthodontist used to joke with me that I was part Neanderthal because he could see from the x-rays that I have a bit of a skull crest and a heavy brow ridge. I also have the biggest teeth he had ever seen. Pack that into a regular sized jaw on a tall skinny H. sapiens body and you have a lot of dental problems.

Do you know why some people are 1 to 4% Neandertal?

Because whilst we all sprang from monkeys, some of us didn’t spring far enough?

Besides (skeptical look) you sure that percentage of inner neandertal for some folks is really that low? 😉
