The issues that the Republican candidates support for party nomination are not those of the majority of Americans. By the time the nomination is sealed it will be too late for Romney. The right don’t want him but will vote for him. Unfortunately for him he needs a majority and he has alienated them to win nomination. The big question now is what we will have in congress.

The thing that gets me is that Obama was beatable and the Republicans did everything they possibly could to make sure he got a second term.

The Democratic base is women and minorities and you go out of your way to piss off the most numerous.

Unless something strange happens, Obama is going to crush Romney like a bug.

And the 2016 race is going to be interesting. Hillary v Santorum unless the Republican cabal has eaten itself by then.

If Santorum is still viable in May, I may have to vote for him. We need a Republican candidate who is unflagging in the war on women!

I don’t think the Republicans thought they were crapping on women. They thought they were “respecting” those little ladies who shouldn’t have to worry their pretty little heads about big important stuff like men do.

Of course, politics being what it is, I guess it won’t be long before we’re thinking and hearing about the 2016 Presidential campaign will it?

That may well be what Santorum is thinking of right now. The runner-up to an eventual nominee who loses the general election is commonly seen as the default leader the next time around. Romney is the most recent example.

#s 2 and 4 seriously overestimate the stupidity of the American electorate at large. Don’t rest on your laurels–even if Obama isn’t perfect, he’s leagues better than *anyone* running against him. You may not think he deserves a second term, but the country manifestly doesn’t deserve another term of Repubs at the till…not yet. So get out and vote, and convince other people to do likewise.
