I wish this were the end of Viscount Monckton and his scientifically illiterate slop served piping hot to conservatives desperate to maintain the status quo. But he and his kindred fools never leave the stage. They just pop up with the same old talking points again and again. To wit, Watts and his pet "urban heat island" idea has been empirically shot down, but the idea that temperature trends are artifactual still persist. Monckton has been debunked time and again, yet he still trots the globe telling his lies. I have lost count of the statistical analyses that Stephen McIntyre and Ross McKitrick have bumbled. Serial plagiarist Wegman has suffered few consequences for his incompetence and ethical violations. Marc Morano has never taken a college level science class that did not have 'political' in the title, but he still churns out teh stupid from his little depot. Facts be damned.

Sadly, this "debate" is not about scientific evidence. It is about policy and whether fossil fuels companies can continue to make record profits for the foreseeable future regardless of the consequences.

'Some of us suspect that Monkton may not have replied due to Mr. Wats being a bit short on cash?'

The suggestion is to start a justgiving donation page for all the followers of Crock to donate to a fund to keep Anthony going.

Think about it, Potholer, without these guys all we'd have for science LoLs is creationism...

Too, too wonderful. If only you could have replied in Latin he may have imploded as a ball anti-science. And I'd have paid good money for that video for sure. Pig Latin is easier - and I doubt any of the Watt$upwithtoothpaste crowd would know the difference - something for next time perhaps. Well pwned, Potholer54. Physics 1 - nonsense non-sequiter Latin - 0.

I doubt that's it for Monckton. There will always be some gullible politician who will invite him to speak at their rally; and he'll always be welcome at various think-tanks who specialize it lying and misleading.
