Unity Brings a Lot of Windows Features to Linux

It slows my system way down, it breaks my desktop, it makes the browser work very poorly, and it requires me to force the computer to shut down and reboot now and then.

It also appears to boot quickly but it is mostly faking it.

  1. When I first saw Unity, and all that crap on the desktop, I immediately aimed wget at an iso from mint.org.

  2. You don’t necessarily have to dump a good OS just because it has a bad GUI. ‘sudo apt-get install xfce4’ or similar. Logout and choose the new GUI at the login prompt.
