					<description><![CDATA[Turns out the blast from the sun was less severe than thought.  It is apparently difficult or impossible to measure the magnetic energy associated with a plasma cloud to the level necessary to make a prediction about how it will affect the Earth.  This plasma cloud was less magnetically active than usual for its size.  A similar event a few years back knocked out power grids, messed with satellites, etc. annd this one did not do as much as expected.

I&#039;m told the aurora will remain in Canadian territories tonight around here.  ]]></description>
