I can assure you the people that watch Fox as a News source are doing so because Fox News sings to the choir. I talk politics with lots of people and they repeat the talking points like robots. You could have a KKK meeting in most Fox News chat rooms with no problem.

Is the average human being racist?

Is racism a natural “instinct” that mostor even all of us have?

I fear that may well be true. But I’d also say we need to move past it if it is and fight that worse part of our nature. Not succumb to it and meekly accept it. Racism is wrong and sucks and shouldn’t be acceptable.

Yes.
The few I’ve come in contact with like to claim they’re not, and say that just because they criticize Obama they get labelled as racist. Of course, the next thing out of their mouths is complaining about “the blacks and the Jews”… anecdotal evidence, of course, but I’ve never been presented with a counter example.

There are people who watch FOX “News” as their primary “news” source, who believe that it’s accurate, and who instinctively distrust real news sources. Of course the average one of those viewers is a racist. There are, however, plenty of people who watch FOX “News” for entertainment value, out of a misguided sense that it provides balance to real news sources, or simply because someone else put it on and it’s not worth the fight to change the channel or turn off the television.

It’s probably more a case of “racists tend to watch Faux News” than “Faux News viewers tend to be racists.” Not that the network does much to discourage them.
