It’s great to hear that we’re nearly there! Hopefully this will be just the beginning of some interesting discoveries. This reminds me of some interesting research recently done by a group here in Finland; they studied samples from a borehole (up to a depth of 1500m) and characterized the changes in the microbial community at different depths.
