You know, I liked almost everything Obama said, and I did feel energized for the first time in years. It was like Candidate Obama, the guy who talked about hope and change, was back. But after voting for him last time, I didn't get any of that change, I got the Capitulator in Chief.

Clean energy research, investment in education and our infrastructure, real reform in finance and health care, that would all be so wonderful, but we've heard all this before. I know Obama's had a hard road dealing with Republicans who would rather cut off their own heads than give him a victory, but he also hasn't taken advantage of the opportunities he's had to push his agenda. Which makes me think it was never his agenda in the first place.

That said, of course I'll vote for him again. What's the alternative? A megalomaniac, a corporate robot or a lunatic?

Wow. You know, there were three issues that have been on my mind that I haven't been hearing from the GOP nominees, and that's economy, education, and scientific research especially for clean alternative energy.

... I'm flabbergasted that Obama emphasized all three.

I'm further impressed that he argued the points in such a way that really can't be disagreed upon. It is very clear, to the majority of Americans, that bringing jobs back over here, funding education and research can only lead to wonderful things.

He's got my vote. Again.

I'm with you Magistramarla. Too bad folks like us have a fairly small percentage of the money, and money talks the loudest. I'm assuming you're not among the top 1% either. Gingrich has one backer who's already given him 10 million. I'll not see anywhere near that amount in my whole life. A thousand of us regular folks can't contribute that much. Gross economic inequality is corrosive to democracy.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm in - I'm voting for him and every Democrat in sight. I've used some of the money that I recently inherited from my GOTP, tea party loving step-mother to contribute to the President's re-election campaign and some other liberal causes (only fitting, right?).
The alternative, if the GOTP gets more control, scares me to death.
