Greg - be sure to start from the beginning then if you can. It's a series that follows a husband/wife then child archaeology family through 30 or so years at the turn of the 19th/20th C. - lots of mystery and very funny in places. She's an excellent writer.

I have read nearly the entire Elizabeth Peters novels set in the early 1900s in Egypt. As she herself is an archaeologist specializing in Egyptology she brings a wonderful sense of realism to her fiction. Are you familiar with them Greg?

I was a research associate at the Field Museum when the King Tut exhibit was there. I went up with wife and kids to return some specimens. We got with one of the curators and were driving around to the loading dock. There was a long line of people waiting for the museum to open. One of the curator's old high school buddies was in line, and recognized the curator as we drove by. We loaded him and and his girlfriend in and all went in through the loading dock. So my family and I went through the King Tut exhibit, by ourselves, before the museum opened, but the couple were given tickets, waited until later in the day.
