					<description><![CDATA[The strange thing is that the gun fetish of the modern right may leave Texas looking downright dowdy when it comes to gun laws. Open carry of pistols isn&#039;t allowed. There are rules on carrying guns in transit, including that they&#039;re unloaded. And getting a concealed carry permit has significant requirements, not just classroom training, but also a proficiency test. 

Yet I never felt that Texas was particularly restrictive in this regard!]]></description>
