Open carry of pistols isn’t allowed. There are rules on carrying guns in transit, including that they’re unloaded. And getting a concealed carry permit has significant requirements, not just classroom training, but also a proficiency test.

Yet I never felt that Texas was particularly restrictive in this regard!
