They are right that it is not swelling much, but the weather is a huge factor. Now that we have a better encampment, we shall see whether the numbers change. It has also been difficult to do outreach when most of the community has a day job, and most people affected by the economy have 2 or 3 jobs. i could say more, but honestly, if you want answers, and a good cultural study, come visit for a few hours some afternoon this week. Though everyday is different, the mix of folks attending is pretty similar (and diverse).
