You know, if it wasn't for the herd immunity effect it might be hard to care. Well, not hard to care, but hard to bother spending the enormous amount of energy it takes to shovel through the ignorance.

I think what she's saying is that she wants more research done to show that DTaP isn't the cause of autism. Currently it's the HiB vaccine that many in the anti-vaxx movement are parroting as the new cause for ASD, so it's something of a similar argument. Vaccine whack-a-mole; you beat down one vaccine and show it's not autism related, only to have another pop up right after. What this argument comes down to is being inherently anti-vaccine and looking for any mode of reasoning that will allow you to hold onto your belief in the face of new evidence.

Rebecca, what is it you are suggesting was glossed over? This report is over 600 pages long, it's quite comprehensive.

The research linking DT-TT and aP Containing Vaccines scored an "I" for autism: "Inadequate to to accept or reject a causal relationship"

So, of CS, FA, I and FR, where CS is convincing relationsip, FA is favors acceptance, I is inadequate and FR is reject relationship, DT-TT and aP got an I.

What about an autism link to OTHER vaccines. This seems to indicate there is no link between autism and MMR, but it's rare for a child to ONLY get the MMR vaccine and no others. Most parents don't cite the MMR as the trigger, but the DTaP or the DTP. What about those? Where is the data showing those don't correlate with autism diagnosis?

I'm a believer in vaccines and in science, but I'd sure like to see science addressing the questions (like they did very effectively with the MMR) instead of glossing over them.

What!? No reports of turning into The Hulk? I am sure that was one side effect listed at VAERS! I think they left off a major line of research! :P
