There have been a couple of protests already, but I don’t think Occupy Houston will be that big. No matter, we have a very interesting protest history here. Back in the late 50’s and early 60’s we didn’t desegregate the the way most cities in the South did. We did things quietly and brought about the The Strange Demise of Jim Crow. Few records exist about how we did it as there was a total local media blackout about the whole series of events.

I correspond with a few people in the Occupy Houston movement. I plan to set up a little booth to accept donations for the Houston 100 Club scholarship fund. This fund helps children of HPD officers who die in the line of duty attend college. Let’s see the cops bust me for that.
