Did Palin mean it? Probably not, which is why I called it a throwaway line, and which is why CNN, bet hedgers that they are, said what they said. Doesn’t mean she won’t say it. Doesn’t mean that her saying it won’t undermine an important health message, because there are thousands upon thousands of people who will only dimly grasp that she’s told them Obama is up to something.

Leadership, which she claims to offer, involves taking some responsibility for the people who blindly follow you, as well as those who parse what you say based on what you probably mean. Palin would rather just make a joke then talk about how persecuted she is when its likely effects are pointed out to her.

But her days are numbered as so many polls are showing. The only reason she would run is to feed her addictive need to keep her name in the media. And she really does NOT want to be Pres. If she hated being the Gov. of a tiny state, how could she like being POTUS -HA!!,

But her nomination will be just like “that bridge to nowhere”! As will the last of her intellectually-challenged followers.

Palin was talking about economics.

Obama has said she wants to promote breastfeeding as a way to reduce childhood obesity, opening the floodgates for economic criticism from Palin.

Even CNN understood, and they rarely get anything right.

What’s happened to make Sarah change her tune?

Nothing.
She didn’t say anything about breatfeeding.

Palin was referring to economics and the price of food; she said NOTHING either way about breastfeeding. She spoke solely about government interference and the economy.

It’s really not hard to understand unless you want to misunderstand in the interests of open-mindedness, civility, and cooperation. [Assume green font for sarcasm.]

WHEREAS, throughout their lives, breastfeeding can offer children protection against serious health conditions, including obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Breastfeeding also saves lives by reducing the incidence of life-threatening cancers in women and preventing premature death in infants.

WHEREAS, breastfeeding forms the most basic bond between mother and baby and is a foundation for lifelong health and wellness.

WHEREAS, government and community organizations have a vested interest in protecting and promoting breastfeeding as a means of preventing infant malnutrition, morbidity, and mortality.

WHEREAS, during October, organizations throughout our state will promote the importance of breastfeeding. This year, in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week – October 1 through October 7 – the State of Alaska will support networks that encourage and promote breastfeeding in all communities.
