I'm writing a thesis on Public Trust in WikiLeaks, the Media and the Government and need to know what your opinions are. The online survey is multiple choice and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please follow the link: http://www.kwiksurveys.com/?s=ILLLML_9669e09d. Would be great if you would encourage others to do the survey also.

I applaud WikiLeaks and what they are doing on the Internet.
WikiLeaks is exposing the U.S. Government and others for the frauds they are.
The U.S. Government lies, cheats, steals, kills, takes, ruins and on and on.
When it comes to war, the government is just as bad.
The numbers are way off and the truth is hidden.
The military lies and covers up.
Want proof?
Just ask the family of Pat Tillman.
Look at the self interest politicians.
Look at the IRS.
Look at the FBI, the CIA and other government groups that waste your money, bully, spy and worse.
Look at the police, the courts and others who get away with far worse crimes than the people they put away.
The U.S. Government is a load of bs and needs to be brought down.
The people have had enough.
In George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, there is a legendary phrase ... "Big Brother is watching you."
That big brother turned out to be big government.
Times are changing.
Now we are watching them and the truth is being told.
Thank God for WikiLeaks.
Instead of trying to shut it down, we the people need to shut down the U.S. Government and all of the others that WikiLeaks has exposed.
It is clear that the truth is something governments, leaders, bankers and many others do not like.
They can shut down Websites, but they can't shut us up.
I am,

GEORGE VREELAND HILL

Big Brother has arrived, not just here in America but world wide. Why, because CEO's, politicians and even our generals are universally crooks, liars, thieves and often murderers. And they really hate being exposed as such. Perhaps they were not when they came to power, but once in power they all eventually become corrupted. So do not be surprised when your favorite politician demands swift reprisals against wikileaks and its founder. But also donâ??t be surprised when you also are brought to heel by those in power in giant corporations, the government and the military.

The other idea I find strange in all this business (and many other similar episodes) is the assumption that the locals are completely unaware of all this until it's reported in the Western media... I suspect they know damn well what's going on (people on the sharp end usually do) and it's only those of us in the Imperial heartlands that are being successfully kept in the dark.

Itzac, that is my hypothesis. Plus, the author of the material to which I refer above commented that the folks living in the Wadi's have a lot of problems to deal with on a day to day basis and the central government, their relationship to other countries including the US, and their fiddling around with Al-Qaida are not very high on their list.

So, in other words Greg, the distributed nature of religious authority in Yemen is better served by a relatively irreligious government than by a religious government that might try to centralize that authority?

Actually Amnesty International published photos of the bomb fragments and they were clearly US, the Yemeni government admitted they had given the US authority and then withdrew it, the Y Parliament made a formal inquiry and found 43 civilians killed at the nearby Bedouin village, mostly women and children, and the Yemeni government issued an apology and perhaps compensation.

The oddest thing about the Patreous cable is that he thinks (and apparently the US embassy thinks) there were only three non-terrorists killed and they were the family of one of the jihaddis, when it was apparent within hours that it was a tragedy. I had photos up on my site the same day.
