Ah, but when you show a dog that there is nothing to bark at it will stop.

When you show Michelle Bachmann there is nothing to bark at she continues to do so claiming you were the reason to bark in the first place and part of 'them'.

She's kind of like the dog who barked first, and now all the other dogs are barking and running after her. She doesn't really know where she's running (that would be meta), and she's not really intentionally leading them anywhere (that would be meta-meta, if I understand correctly). She just knows they're following her, and takes that to mean that she must be running in the right direction. She knows that she can make them bark and run, and that's all she really cares about.

I'm curious, where would you place Obama? 2-meta or 3-meta?

Off topic: why do I always think 'Church Lady' when I hear her speak?

Good post. I like the way you did this.

This is all way too meta for me. The way I see it, people who vote for and support people like Michele Bachmann do so because they want the kind of society that such people will achieve. A society run by people who are good at bullying. A society built by people who achieve their ends by bullying because they don't have any other way to achieve it.

In other words terrorists. People trying to achieve their political ends not by persuasion, negotiation and agreement but by instilling fear, and in the limit terror, and when that doesn't work by killing people.

This was the goal of the terrorists, to put those who rule by terror in charge. They may succeed in this election.
