Your bass's eyes are adapted to fairly low light levels. They are essentially blind in open clear sunlit water. I used to do a lot of bass fishing on a creek which had a high bluff on the west side. No need to fish for bass until the bluff shaded the water. Bluegill, on the other hand can see fine in bright light. So I would fish for bluegill until the shade got on the water and the bass started biting.

Wait a minute -- today is Friday. And this is at least the second Saturday is Reposted Essay Day post on a Friday today. As a longtime reader, I don't begrudge you the occasional (or even weekly) Reposted Essay Day, but it would be nice if Saturday is Reposted Essay Day occurred on a Saturday, so I would know what to expect.

I realize that we should all keep Saturday is Reposted Essay Day in our hearts all the year 'round. And I do try to maintain the spirit of Saturday is Reposted Essay Day. But twice in one Friday seems a bit much. How many essays can you possibly repost tomorrow in order to keep the memory of Saturday is Reposted Essay Day? If you keep reposting Saturday essays on Fridays, why should I regard Saturday is Reposted Essay Day as being different from any other day?

I once got into a mental state which prevented me from accomplishing anything. As soon as I would start on something I would think that something else needed to be taken care of. I would dither away the whole day long.

My son asked me to take him fishing. As I sat on the river bank, rod in hand, I realized that when one is fishing, there is nothing else is important. Talk about your light bulb going off! I realized, for the first time, what my problem was; and set about rebooting my mind and becoming a useful and productive individual.
