They were descended from the animals of the US Army Camel Corps, a short-lived experiment in the mid-1800s. (It was Jefferson Davis’s idea.) The project was abandoned because the camels were difficult to manage and because they scared the horses (and possibly because the US didn’t want anything to do with anything having to do with Jefferson Davis after he became president of the Confederacy). Supposedly the camels have died out, but rumors of sightings still crop up occasionally.

(BTW, the world’s largest population of feral camels â?? over a million animals â?? can be found in Australia. Australian camels are said to be the only truly “wild” dromedary camels in the world.)

The honor killings I have heard about in the past few years were perpetrated by Muslims. There may be some Christians who murder members of their own family. The difference is the Muslims seem to believe the killings are approved of (or even required) by their religion.

If you are trying to say: “Islam is a religion of peace.” in another form, I am still not buying it.

Least you think I am Christian, I am not, they have their own attrocities.

Note that these sorts of situations have occurred with both Muslims and Christian families so we shouldn’t see this as an exclusively Muslim issue. It is in some ways more of a cultural rather than a religious issue although religion presumably has something to do with it.
