Ted Kennedy's health care past allowed for transplant industry to become horridly powerful - now the industry can trump a patients advance directive! What I want to know - was he signed up to a an organ donor? Did he become an organ donor or was he used for research/education??? He pushed laws for everyone else to become organ donors. Let's not make special and new rules for special people for special circumstances. A bill that becomes law that destroys peoples lives can not be made on an emotional moment.

What I will sign is a petition to name it after him only if it is a bill he would approve of. If it is a bill that makes more money for the insurance companies by allowing them to cover less and less of our health care costs then I would rather they name it after Mike Enzi. If it is one that includes a public option with no means testing for availability, and one that scares the shit out of the insurance companies, then I will sign this petition.
