As a cloud geek it looks to me like an edge on view of a mammatus cloud. 
Mammatus clouds are low in the sky, have dark and light areas that &quot;glow&quot;, can have a &quot;greenish tinge&quot;, and from underneath the &quot;raggedness&quot; and &quot;waves&quot; look like rows of boobies hanging in the sky (thus the name).
They are not associated with violent storms but they do have an &quot;apocalyptic&quot; feel about them.]]></description>
