What?! A charismatic population going extinct and it’s not due to AGW?All kidding aside, I do wish we’d have our attention drawn to stuff that is alarming and that actually deserves our alarm. Human impacts are destroying habitat at a breakneck pace and it’s not due to the potential of a couple of inches of sealevel rise over the next century, or a shift in the boreal forest or glacial forelands, but increased human numbers doing all that they can to satisfy their cultural and material desires the old and immediate ways.

To clarify: The title “Moran” for the Maasai is similar to “elder” or “prophet” … vaguely parallel to “chief” in the very general sense. … but only vaguely. High status male who is married, etc., and a community leader.Thanks for the link.
