Whereeas the “female birth control pill is an excellent way of controlling reproduction”, its use–and the choice that use carries–is also a great way of controlling male resources. I can’t even begin to count the number of guys ( none of whom were out raping anyone)I know who all have the same sad story ” she said she was on birth control…”Poor idiots: they didn’t know that many women like to play biological roullette using male sperm, false statements about birth control, and eventually using male time, labor, and non-kinship group enforcement resources to uphold their wheel spin at ‘choice’.And females raping males is impossible, only because rape is defined exclusively as being perpetrated by one who has a penis, and does not in its primary definition include other forms of body penetration–say thermometers, digits, etc ( Cybil anyone?). Worst of all, the definition has been slanted to overlook female behaviors that women perpetrate on children.

A male birth control pill would be as odd and contrary to the broader biological and social conditions as females raping males or the cab driver going directly to your destination using the shortest possible route. Virtually unthinkable.Yet probably coming to your pharmacy soon. You could walk there if you don't trust cab drivers.

Whut, the old one that was a fony feminist social construct has been debunked now?Very well written,Greg, but I think you left out one pertinent detail of control: men who do not want children are at the whims and mercies of first, deceptive and cajoling women who DO want children, and then, they are the prey of differently gendered child support and custody laws that penalize them for their “choice”, which more often than not, was a concession to female incepted social coercion (withholding of sex, legislating its when how and with who), or a concession because of ‘unavailable’ sex.As you note: “female mammals are in control, I mean this in reference to every part of the process. In most mammal species, females choose with whom to have sex to a much greater degree than any male aardvark or high school student would like to admit”, which tips the ideology of feminism on its ear–because this control is exerted in a primary–not a secondary sense. Abd Bella Abzug’s response is a great example of women presuming that male labor belongs to them, and their causes–as the old feminiz saw goes ” women(sex) is the supplly, men create the demand”, so too it is true of labor, women create the demand, men are the ‘supply, and taken for granted, if worjplace deaths from hard physical labor are any barometer.

There is, of course, vasectomy, and tubal litigation. But these procedures don’t really qualify as birth “control”, as they are, more or less, permanent.When asked if I support abortion, my response is always that I am a man, therefore I am not qualified to answer, and I don’t think men are in any position to make policy on what women should, or should not do with their bodies. As far as birth control, it is very true that the biological state of affairs forces women to be the “hands on” participant in birth control, and that removes responsiblity from the guys. I, for one, would certainly like to play a more important part in decisions regarding family planning.You left out another factor in the cab driver scenario:The fare tells the cabbie that he has no money, but could he get a ride anyway. The hack tells him to walk. In this case the driver still has pretty much all the control, but here his control has extended to deciding just exactly who gets into his cab.Thanks, Greg.
