This is a positive development. People should move forward for our future generations. I will not debate the issue again here. Science should not be about politics. But we do need to protect ourselves from the Biblical Jihadis, which, although they do not represent the views of mainstream Christianity, will resort to all types of dirty tricks in their attempts to destroy our Democracy and replace it with a feudal-ages middle eastern tribal theocracy. Why anyone this day in age thinks that the correct way to run a nation of 250 million citizens is to run it like was a semi-nomadic tribe of hunter-gatherers from 500BC is the real mystery. Can someone check these people for lobotomy scars?

Apropos of this thread is this article from Nature relative to a story out of India. This should be a wakeup call to the supporters of good science education. As New York Times columnist Tom Friedman puts it, the powers that be in India and China would like nothing more then for creationism to be taught in American high schools science classes. They want our jobs!http://www.nature.com/news/2008/080109/full/451112b.html
