He sued, and the resulting case, Robert Jordan v. The City of New London, was dismissed by Judge Peter C. Dorsey, who argued that the practice was constitutional, as all intelligent applicants are treated the same: “Plaintiff may have been disqualified unwisely but he was not denied equal protection.”
