The National Wildlife Foundation has just announced it’s annual Wildlife Week for April 21 through April 29.
The big event for this week is the Wildlife Watch, a form of Bioblitz, described as follows:
Wildlife Watch is an activity for individuals, groups and families
to observe nature and record your observations. Spring wildlife watch
occurs at the end of April in conjunction with National Wildlife
Weekâ˘. Download a list of wildlife and wildlife happenings in your
state, go out and look or listen for the happening, then come back on
line to tell us what you observed. Your findings will help to track
spring as it moves across the United States.
Jeremy Bruno of The Voltage Gate has suggested that science bloggers take a special role in this event. You can see his description at “Announcing the First Annual Blogger Bioblitz”
If you are a blogger, please consider joining up. There are ways in which non-bloggers can participate as well. I will be happy to provide a place for anyone of you nine readers of my site to post your results, and I’m sure some (maybe all) of the other bloggers would be happy to oblige as well.
Any K-12 Science Teachers out there? This could be a good project for the kids…
I hope you can join us!
