… before Google became Evil.

There was a time in the past of many (but not all) Evil Empires when the forbearer, forerunners, and/or forefathers were not fundamentally evil, selfish, and in fact may have been noble. I can’t think of any examples off hand but I’m sure it is true. Well, actually, I can think of one example of a person I used to work for who is now a Major Megalomaniac but who did not start out that way. I had the displeasure of seeing that transformation, and I can swear to the fact that it had to do with anxiety bout money coincidental with the opportunity to make more money by setting aside troublesome social norms such as ethics and fear of the law. But that is a story that I cannot tell without advice of a lawyer, so I’ll shut up about it right …. now..

Quick-Blogger PZ Myers reports in this post in Pharyngula that Nick Gisburne, had a video banned from YouTube owing to it’s content regarding Islam.

According to Gisburne’s video (you can find it on Pharyngula) he is a regular poster about atheism on YouTube. He explains that YouTube deleted all of his accounts on YouTube (presumably including his video) “After being flagged by members of the YouTube community, and reviewed by YouTube staff, the video below has been removed due to its inappropriate nature. [The name of the video is: Islamic Teaching, Cruelty from the Koran]. Due to repeated attempts to upload inappropriate videos, your your account has been permanently deleted and your videos have been taken down.”

Gisburne, by his own accounts, does not post inflammatory Atheist-themed videos, compared to some other YouTube regular posters. He asks the question: what makes this video sufficient to get him banned? He describes the “offending” video as a slide show given direct quotes from and English translation of the Koran that he finds offensive.

All rational people know that the Abrahamic Holy Books contain extensive offensive content. These passages need to have more exposure, in my opinion. Gisburne’s “offense” against some members of the YouTube community has resulted in the deletion of not just THIS video, but ALL of his videos.

Perhaps YouTube had “good” reasons to be concerned given current trends in Muslim-Bashing, which all rational people abhor, and which is different from Islam-bashing. But this sort of action is one step closer to YouTube becoming an arbitrary force. It is, now owned by the giant Google, close to being a Large Arbitrary Force. Godlike, in a sense. This is not a good thing.

Gisburne asked supporters to contact YouTube and ask for the reinstatement of his account.

It appears that may people have posted Gisburne’s videos, the “offending” video and his plea for help, on YouTube. Following are the links to these videos, but I cannot guarantee that they will be available.

The offending video can be found here:

And Grisburne’s request for help is here.

And this is linked below but I just want to make sure you see it.

I’m not sure what your complaint is, Greg. Do you object to private ownership of YouTube or that private owners can choose to implement policies you don’t like or something else? Even with my socialist leanings, I can understand, say, my barber putting limits on what his customers might say in his shop. As for YouTube, it’s not like there aren’t plenty of other places to go on the net to get any sort of opinion on pretty much anything.

Allah has replied to this controversy on the Blog of the Gods, pointing out that if He hadn’t made His religion so militant, it might never have spread so quickly. He’s angry at YouTube for removing a video He believes may scare some more people into believing in him. He promises an awful lot of burning if they don’t.

It is always scary when the religious fanatics unite to repress free speech.
But if you want to know what Allah, and any other fanatic has to say about it,
you can Ask Imam for free at:

But don’t piss him off, or one of the devoted might cut your head off( or have those
CIA black-ops guys who were doing it in the middle east in order to incite even more violence amongst fanatics on both sides of the big lakedo it for him)

Opps! I must have dropped a repeat by accident, so that’s three. I shouldn’t be so careless when handling explosives.

    Andy:

Good point, and hard to disagree with. But if Google is going to make YouTube into a place where you post any videos you want that they also like, they should be more explicit about this. When they first took over YouTube there was a lot of publicity (that they engineered) about what YouTube is about, and how Google would promote this vision, and selective censorship was not mentioned at the time.

YouTube are dhimmis. Fully shari’a compliant.
That’s because of founder jawed karim.
He is a terrorist who supports CAIR and the global caliphate agenda.
Muslims who openly criticise the West don’t get suspended there.
