Microsoft to Pay $240 Million for Stake in Facebook
Microsoft has won a high-profile technology industry battle with Google and Yahoo to invest in the social networking upstart Facebook.
The two companies said on Wednesday that Microsoft would invest $240 million for a 1.6 percent stake in Facebook. The investment values the three-year-old Facebook, which will bring in about $150 million in revenue this year, at $15 billion.

As part of the deal, Microsoft will sell the banner ads appearing on Facebook outside of the United States, splitting the revenue with it. Last year, Microsoft struck a deal with Facebook to run banner ads on the site in the United States through 2011.

Looks like you got spammed by a robo-blog or something. I had a few of those yesterday, too; one on an atheist post I had written. I checked out the site, and it only had a series of links to posts that had “meditation” in the bodies of the articles. I became suspicious when I realized that each post contained a variation of
Then I got another pingback to a post I had written up on “Tangled Up In Blue, The Restaurant (in Taylors Falls, no less.) The intro was the same. The bot was quick, because it appeared within an hour of publishing the post.
There may be an advantage to accepting these spambots, for link inflation purposes; it may raise your technorati rating.
As to your post, I had no idea that facebook was worth that much. I don’t even go there, how can it be worth anything?
