Abducted by Aliens … and dropped off at the Grand Canyon
2 Comments Published by Greg October 31st, 2007 in Evolution v Creationism, Science Essays, CreationismI’m pretty sure Amanda and I were abducted by aliens this morning. This is not the first time, for me. I was abducted with two others about 20 years ago in Southern Maine while looking for antiques, back when you could still get them cheap even in antique stores (inexpensive antiques, not aliens). […]

2 Comments Published by Greg October 30th, 2007 in Creationism in the Classroom, Evolution v Creationism, Education, Atheism and Religion, Commentary, Creationism, Science EducationLarry Moran has written a post in which he presents an opposite view of what I stated here. My statements merely echo those of the National Center for Science Education, the US. Supreme Court, and others because I believe that the “Teaching of the Controversy” should not be allowed in public school science classrooms. […]

According to reports from 1,441 undergraduate students at a large, public American university, most high-school biology teachers teach evolution. Approximately 25% of students who attended public schools report that their biology teachers also taught creationism, despite the […]

There is an interesting short piece on Panda’s Thumb regarding the claim that “Darwinism leads to Fascism.”
The point: Saying that “A Darwinian society would be a fascist state” is like saying that “a Quanum Mechanical society would be an anarchy.” In other words, dumb, dumb, dumb. Read it here.

Way back in 1955, when “DA” referred to you haircut and not your county attorney, and cars had wings but could not fly, but everyone assumed that by the year 2007 they would, Homer Jacobson wrote a paper in which he made claims that later would be widely interpreted […]

Maybe what we creationists need is to set a date for earth’s 6 billion year birthday, and start planning the party now…
But where do we get Six Thousand and Ten Candles?????

Oh, no … we’ve almost missed it! Now we have to make a mad scrabble for birthday hats and noisemakers […]

There’s not going to be a special cable provider that doesn’t carry X-rated channels. The town isn’t going to be a Catholic utopia, where only practicing Catholics are welcome. And no one is dictating what can or, […]
