Rush Limbaugh In Charge Of GOP

Rush Limbaugh, the de facto leader of the Republican Party, fires Mitt Romney

We all know Rush Limbaugh is the Godfather of the Republican Party. You listen to him, and do what he says, or you’re out. People often say that the President of the United States is the “leader of the free world.” No, sorry. If the POTUS is a Republican, Rush Limbaugh becomes the leader of the free world. Can you think of a scarier thought than Rush Limbaugh calling the shots for the entire planet Earth?

(I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. But I digress.)

Anyway, even when the President is not a Republican, Rush still runs the Republican party. He is now in charge of both the Senate and the House, because if you are a Senator or a House rep, and a Republican, you do what Rush says or you are out.

Similarly, Rush Limbaugh is the gatekeeper for the Republican Party’s process of putting up candidate for president.

Not long ago, Mitt Romney seemed to be indicating that he was thinking about running for President. Shortly after that, he indicated that he thought Anthropogenic Global Warming was for real and important. Then Rush said this:

Rush Limbaugh Ends Mitt Romney’s Presidential Aspirations over Global Warming

Then, Romney said this:

‘After putting considerable thought into making another run for president, I’ve decided it is best to give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee.”

And so, in this manner Rush Limbaugh has fired Mitt Romney.

I hate the expression, “Grow a pair.” But, really, Republicans, do grow a pair when you get a chance. This is embarrassing.

Peter Sinclair has the whole story and more, here: One Week after Acknowledging Climate – Romney Out of Race

Elections matter!

Or is she just a blithering idiot who makes stuff up for her own political gain?

In a recent hearing of the Intelligence Committee, which she enigmatically sits on, like some kind of sick joke perpetuated by Squeaker of the House John Boner, this transpired between Bachmann and the CIA director:

[BACHMANN] … When the White House conducted their armed drone strikes in North Africa, particularly in eastern Libya prior to the attack on our mission in Benghazi on 9-1-1 last year, did the White House notify the State Department of the armed drone strikes before they were made?

[BRENNAN, LOOKING TOTALLY BAFFLED] Ah, armed droned strikes in Libya? Um, I’m unknowing of such and I would defer to the White House to address your question.

[BACHMANN] Were there any armed drone strikes in north Africa that were made by the White House?

[BRENNAN] The White House doesn’t have a drone capability/responsibility, whatever so…

[BACHMANN] I’m asking in north Africa, I’m asking, I’m asking director Brennan, were there any armed drone strikes that were made by the United States in north Africa prior to 9-1-1?

[BRENNAN] Well we usually don’t talk about any sort of specific actions, but ah, again, I don’t know what you could be referencing.

[BACHMANN] I’m just wondering if the State Department was aware, or if the military was aware, or if the CIA was aware. and if we aren’t going to talk about that we aren’t going to talk about that, but that’s a question I’d like to know.

….

[BACHMANN] But regarding the nuclear weapon program and our intelligence capability — again, we have a wonderful intelligence community, but we weren’t aware of the bombing in 1993 at the World Trade Center tower. We weren’t aware before 9-1-1 occurred in 2001, we weren’t aware of the Arab Spring developments, and we weren’t aware of the attack on the mission on Benghazi. How do we have confidence that we will know when Iran has amassed the capability of developing a nuclear weapon? I ask that because the President said last month that it would take approximately a year for [Iran] to develop a nuclear weapon once they had make that decision. Last week — we know that the current negotiations have gone without any breakthrough or any development. And so I’m very concerned about our intelligence capability of knowing with a high degree of certainty when Iran has either made the decision to develop nuclear weapons, or has obtained nuclear weapons.

[CIA OFFICIAL] I think this subject would be much, much better talked about in closed session.

[BACHMANN] I would look forward to that, and I would appreciated that. Could you comment on what is happening with, ah, we talk a lot about uranium development with Iran’s nuclear program, but Iran is also building a heavy water reactor capable of producing plutonium. What is the status of Iran’s heavy water reactor?

[BRENNAN AND THE OFFICIAL LOOK BAFFLED, THEN THE OFFICIAL SAYS] Well agian, this would be a subject for closed session I think.

[BACHMANN] I look forward to that.

A more detailed transcript, a video of the Michele the Moron (which I say in all due respect) carrying out what appears to be an act of High Treason, and some details about the comedy of it all, are HERE.

I recieved some interesting objection to the post I wrote about a whacky Republican who insists that science comes from Hell, sent by Satin or his children, to confuse us. And he’s on the Science Commitee. Seriously. People came to defend him, and interestingly, people who claim to be non-anti-science Republicans came to defend themselves, saying that “Democrats are bad too” etc. etc.

To the Republicans who came to dismiss my post, I have this to say: Read the goddamn post. What I’m saying is that the anti-science and anti-reason forces have taken over your precious club, and at this point, membership in it amonts to endorsement of Braun and Bachmann and … also …. this guy:

Charles Fuqua

Which, I assume, is pronounced

Charles Fuck You, Eh?

Fuqua is a Republican running for House in Arkansas, where I’ve encountered such republicans before (see the story part of “Group seeks investigation of legislator’s preschool. And a story for you.”) Would be elected Republican Fuqua…

…is advocating the use of the death penalty as a means of punishing “rebellious” children, and claims the Bible supports his position…[and] also is coming under attack for expelling Muslims from the U.S., in order to solve what he calls the “Muslim problem.” Fuqua has received the endorsement of two Republican U.S. Congressmen, Reps. Tim Griffin and Steve Womack.

So, to those of you who keep saying “I’m a Republican” as the evidence piles higher and deeper that being Republican makes you a Fuqua… I mean Fuckwad, I ask you: Have you no shame?

A new watchdog group report tells us that when it comes to travel expenses..

…he may have been reimbursed for the same flights both under his official allowance as congressman, and by either non-profit groups under his control or his campaign committee.

The revelation would be ironic in part because Paul made fiscal responsibility a central tenet of his 2012 presidential campaign. The congressman celebrated a major victory in July when his bill to audit the Federal Reserve for greater transparency passed the House.

Paul’s possible double-billing has been in the public eye since Roll Call first reported it in February, but CREW says there is no evidence Paul has repaid the money since.

I’m sure his followers won’t mind this at all. But for the rest of us it is kinda funny. Not Ha Ha funny, though.

And he’s not worth much.

Romney went to England and insulted the Queen.
He went to the Holy Land and insulted everybody there.
He went to Poland and insulted the Poles.

Then…

Over the last several hours, a YouTube video with clips from an anti-Muslim film reached the general awareness of islamisists in Libya and Egypt, who carried out some very intense protests that in Libya escalated to the murder of four US Embassy officials including the Ambassador to that country. In case you didn’t know, this is what is called an International Incident, and it is right up there with some of the most intense such incidents. Hopefully this will be handled and the violence will not continue and we’ll get past this, but this is also the sort of thing that could end up in another 444 Days in Iran or a modified and very unpretty Arab Fall to follow the recent rather rough Arab Spring times (which Romney referred to as a three year long process in a recent mispeak… that was all this year, Mitt).

When an International Incident, especially one in which Americans are killed overseas doing their duty, and especially when one of those murdered is a highly placed official (you can’t get more highly placed in an overseas post than “Ambassador,” of course) others who are involved in the national conversation, such as those running for election in an election season, begin with the following response: They STFU. First, you shut up, then you watch, listen, and learn, then you make a statement that unequivocally backs the US and the President and all that. This is an International Incident, not a scuff up over domestic policy or taxation or some other such thing. When a candidate for President fails to STFU (followed by words of unity and support) and instead does what Mitt Romney did, things can get worse instead of better.

You all probably know what Romney did; he turned the incident into an opportunity for a partisan attack on Obama. This is nearly, if not perfectly, unprecedented. No one has ever done this before. No one has ever done any of these things Mitt Romney has done before, during his overseas visits or in blathering about policy in reaction to this International Incident that he willfully misunderstands and uses for his own political gain.

I know this may be hard to believe, but I wonder…is it possible that when it comes to foreign policy and foreign relations, Mitt Romney is worse than George Bush Jr.? At least, people liked to have a beer with George, which I know, does not help a lot in interaction with Muslim governments or leaders, but still…

Romney is not a joke. He’s a foreign policy disaster.

Have a look at this essay for a similar perspective.

Paul Ryan Is A Hypocrite!

I’ll bet you didn’t know that, right? Think Progress reports: Paul Ryan Supported Green Auto Loans Before Launching A Political Attack On The Program:

Last month, Ryan was called out for securing more than $25 million in stimulus funds for clean energy programs in 2009 — even while publicly calling the program a “wasteful spending spree.”

And now more documents show that Ryan sought federal funds for advanced auto manufacturing projects in 2008.

There’s more.

Minnesota Republican Congressman Chip Cravaac and his Goons

…he uses the police to clear liberal constituents out of his offices and uses the police to keep liberals far, far away from him when they find out about his private events.

But now, Cravaack is using Republican goons to manhandle, threaten and eject liberals who paid to attend his private…

Read about it here.

Apparently, Michel Bachmann has failed to show up for work. Check it out.
