An alligator in Wisconsin?

This is the claim being made:

Oh, I can’t believe she’s never going camping again because she saw an alligator! Personally, I like running across this sort of animal.

I hope there is an actual scientific investigation of this. I’d love to know if this creature could possibly have wintered over. This is a rather large beast to haven not been in the wild for about a year, though I suppose it is possible that someone fed it up in their basement.

  1. Many years ago, in one of the two Kansas Citys, a fire station had to give up their potbelly pig mascot because of city ordinance banning pigs.

I heard one of the affected firemen on a talk radio show. He said they had been called by a woman to come and devise a fire rescue plan for the alligators and crocodiles she kept in her basement. He said they did so, and found several crocodilians in the 6 – 8 ft range. It was perfectly legal for the woman to keep them. The firemen did their duty and devised a rescue plan.

  2. Why did they shoot it? So stupid, why not transport it to a zoo, or somewhere it could be safe. Maybe they should do that in Florida too, hell why not just shoot everything that could possibly hurt someone. So dumb…..

  3. I swore I saw a baby alligator up in the upper Dells of Wisconsin when i got into to the water to go kayaking off our property. We have had this house for 10yrs and I never saw anything like it before. It was in about 2ft of water when it swam past me.
