Is it true that

intellectual dishonesty would get anyone canned from a tenured university position.

Maybe. but being an unmitigated racist asshat is apparently not.

  1. Specifically, section 3.03 of the APA Ethics Code:

    “3.03 Other Harassment
Psychologists do not knowingly engage in behavior that is harassing or demeaning to persons with whom they interact in their work based on factors such as those personsâ?? age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, or socioeconomic status.”

  2. I think people are forgetting how many people are left over from when things like racism, sexism, and homophobia were official doctrines in higher education. Their bias doesn’t dissapear when the regulations show up, they just have to try and hide it better (or not, in this case).
