  1. I finally stopped trying to grow catnip. As soon as the neighborhood addicts found a new plant, they would “rub, sniff, and chew” it to a stump. I have a feeling that the planter in the video will soon resemble a wasteland and the kitties will be off to the next garden.

  2. We put a chicken-wire cylinder around our catnip planter to keep them out. We act as the candy man for them, doling out a bowlful every so often. Seems to work.

  3. We have 3 cats and they all love fresh grown catnip but not the commercial stuff. Like you Gray I have had to fence it off with Chicken wire and dole out a bud or two every so often – gotta plant more next year 🙂

  4. I’ve never known a cat that doesn’t love catnip! I’ve never tried to grow it for them. They’d probably demolish it if I did. Furthermore, some cats have the same reaction to rosemary! I bought some as an herb plant to put, fresh, into food. No such luck. My cats ate it! I’m not making this up!

  5. Even without evidence the dogs win, paws down, no contest.

    Cats are cool.

Dogs are social and keenly aware of cause and effect, something cats seem to ignore.

    Cats routinely ignore you.

Dogs watch your every move and judge their behavior thereby.

Cats make good neighbors and dogs are freakier.

*i loves me some puppies and some kitties so i’m not choosing sides*
