The oceans are becoming increasingly acidic thanks the to rise in the levels of CO2 brought about by the industrial age. This is leading to the reduction of habitable space for coral.   1. I saw Thomas Homer-Dixon talking about carbon levels. The stress and sadness in his face were heart-rending. Scientists can see what’s going on but don’t have the power to act. Only we do by making it a political issue. But people are short-sighted, focusing on the economy (as pressing as that is), when the world is sick.
