My Uncle Is A Man Named Steve (Not A Monkey)

i-22a38e80e5083d393c46a5634e57583b-unclesteve.jpgThat is the title of the First Place science fair project from a baptist science fair. The description of the project:

Cassidy Turnbull (grade five) presented her uncle, Steve. She also showed photographs of monkeys and invited fairgoers to note the differences between her uncle and the monkeys. She tried to feed her uncle bananas, but he declined to eat them. Cassidy has conclusively shown that her uncle is no monkey.

Very cute. Too bad little Cassidy’s brain is now hobbled forever. (Well, maybe not. She’s only in fifth grade. She could get over it….)This is from here.. You will find a number of equally endearing examples of christian creationist science fair winners., such as “Women Were Designed For Homemaking” and “Using Prayer To Microevolve Latent Antibiotic Resistance In Bacteria”Too good to be true.

    That’s satire.

  2. Greg Laden says:

Which part, the part where it says “my uncle steve” or the part where I said “too good to be true”.. no matter, the link is to a site that is fun to read… I hope people check it out.

  3. the real cmf says:

Wait’ll she finds out what Uncle Not a Monkey’s sensitive body posture indicates….

  4. Tony P says:

Poor deluded child! Of course her uncle isn’t a monkey, he’s a chimpanzee, or at least a third variant of Chimp behind the standard Chimp and the Bonobo.

  5. Nelson Muntz says:

Well, the world needs motel maids, too.

  6. sailor says:

Yes this one is satire, it first appeared on a big sppof site that made this obvious (well fairly obvious, one has to say it is hard to satarize these morons. But calling yourself Dr. Paley does it. This is what is left of that original site, still funny….

  7. stavros says:

The prayer from the prayer project:”Dear Lord, please allow the bacteria in Group A to unlock the antibiotic-resistant genes that You saw fit to give them at the time of Creation. Amen.”Ha ha ha! This is one of the most ridiculous things I have EVER heard -even from Creationists!

  8. Umlud says:

Now Greg, these are from 2001. I wonder how deluded these children have remained. (Cassidy Turnbull is now in 12th grade – if she wasn’t held back, and many of the others may well have continued on to college…)I really shudder at some of the other winners (and runners-up):Elementary School Category(runner-up): “Pokemon Prove Evolutionism Is False” – Paul Sanborn (grade 4)Middle School Category2nd Place: “Women Were Designed For Homemaking” – Jonathan Goode (grade 7)(runner-up): “Rocks Can’t Evolve, Where Did They Come From Mr. Darwin?” – Anna Reed (grade 6)High School Category1st Place: “Using Prayer To Microevolve Latent Antibiotic Resistance In Bacteria” – Eileen Hyde and Lynda Morgan (grades 10 & 11)

  9. mike says:

  10. ike says:
