Some scary new technology will soon be coming to market: video game controllers that let you use your thoughts rather than your hands. The EPOC neuroheadsets are “designed to detect conscious thoughts and expressions as well as ‘non-conscious emotions’ by reading electrical signals around the brain”.

  1. All I could think of when I saw that helmet is what a fantastic boon it will be for development of assistive technology. Quadraplegics, paraplegics, people with palsy disorders could all have a new lease on mobility and activity.

  2. People are going to want them to change the channel; pressing buttons is so much work.But I want to put a stop to remote control devices being called “robots”! When true AI is developed, then we’ll see some robot overlords. “Though you took precautions, I could see your lips move.” – HAL 9000

  3. Interesting stuff, i think it could be so useful for so many people… but you can’t help to imagine what the military could do with it,kinda scary
