  1. This is painful to listen to! I learned the Greek alphabet from a Greek. The pronunciations are utterly different.Besides, my teacher was gorgeous, and with a voice like honey…ack! Had to stop before minute 4…

Yeah everyone SHOULD learn the American pronunciations, but the Greek pronunciations really are spectacularly different!For example “beta” is more like “veeta” when pronounced correctly! “Pi” is “pee”. And “delta” is more like “thelta”, but the th is soft.Still this is useful for people doing math and science, not people learning greek 🙂
